Campus Procedures – Dress Code Policy
 
Classroom Procedures
Dress code violation forms available in the 100 teacher’s lounge. Please do not use referrals for dress code violations.
 
Dress code violations that can be corrected in the classroom, i.e., sweatshirts, headgear, etc.
 Teacher requests that student remove/fix violation and writes dress code violation on triplicate form with the  
 following:
  • Student and teacher info
  • Description of violation
  • Checked-off category with circled description where necessary
  • If other, a detailed description must be provided
  Teacher distributes copies as follows:
  • Pink - given to student at the time the dress code violation is issued.
  • White and Yellow – place in Maria Neves’ mailbox for processing.
 Dress code violations unable to correct in classroom, i.e., jeans, non-Wilson colored clothing, defiance, etc.
 Teachers are to send student to ACE, which is located in the cafeteria.
  • Contact personnel in ACE (Ext. 6105) – leave voicemail message if busy
  • Provide your name, extension, name of student, grade level, brief description of violation and time student is sent out of class.
  • Write a pass for student that includes “TO ACE/DRESS CODE”, teacher name and time. If needed, send with a student escort
  • Dress code form will be completed by ACE personnel
  • ACE personnel will refer to administrator in cases involving dress code defiance
 General Campus Procedures for Staff Assistants and Administrative Team
Staff assistants and administrative team will confiscate hats, non-uniform colored sweatshirts, etc
  • Item confiscated must be labeled for identification
  • Write student name, grade level and date on label or tape strip and tape onto confiscated item
  • Dress code violation issued
  • Items to be stored securely and returned at designated times
  • For repeat offenders, parent will be contacted to pick-up item(s)
  • Items not picked-up at the end of the month will be donated to charity
 Administrative Procedures
First through third violations – Dean of Students – Maria Neves - Ext. 6007
First through third violations are processed and recorded by the Dean of Students. All violations are recorded in individual student permanent discipline record and dress code violation database. Dean will monitor database to ensure students serve all detentions. Names of suspended students and suspension dates will be made available in the faculty section of the Daily Bulletin.

Third and subsequent violations are forwarded to the Assistant Principals for appropriate consequences which will be recorded in student discipline record.
