Wilson Grad Nite
Grad Nite Fundraising Letter
Dear Wilson High School Neighbor,
Each spring, since 1993, dozens of volunteers have come together to produce an extraordinary graduation party for Wilson High School's graduating class. "Grad Nite" is conducted in a transformed area of the Wilson campus in a drug and alcohol-free environment. For over 20 years, through the efforts of volunteers, many accidents and deaths have been averted - preserving the bright futures of these young adults. This years' senior class will total over 900 students.
Only graduating seniors are allowed to attend this event, June 15, 2016, 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. The event is supervised by parents and administrators. Entertainment, music, food, dancing, games and prizes are all provided for the price of an entrance ticket.
The cost of this annual event, and regular refurbishment of decorations, traditionally exceeds $55,000. In order to keep students' ticket prices as low as possible, and provide scholarships for needy students, contributions are gathered from the community. As in past years, we have a goal to exceed past year donations to expand some of the graduates’ favorite attractions to reduce waiting lines, place worn out decorations and cover increasing entertainment and game costs.
Your donation will go to supporting the safety of our children and provide them with a celebration they will remember for years to come. We, the Wilson High School community, students and parents are grateful to all of our supporters and thank you for your generosity.
Please make your tax-deductible donation to Wilson High School Grad Nite and mail it and the completed attached donation form to Allison Gurich, 2371 St. Joseph Ave., Long Beach, CA 90815. If you have any questions or wish to arrange for a donation pick up, please call me at (562) 487-7155 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
Thank you for contributions that you may have made in the past, and for helping us to make future Grad Nite 2016 a success! If you are interested in donating your time to help the parents put on this amazing event please contact our Volunteer Coordinator via e-mail at email@example.com.

Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior & Senior Parents.....WE NEED YOU!!
We don’t ship them off to Knott’s or Disneyland; we completely transform the two gyms and surrounding areas into an amazing, tricked-out party location! Our seniors arrive at 9:30 pm Graduation Day and depart at 5:00 am the next morning. They enjoy food and beverages, an awesome DJ, dance floor, card dealers, video games, a chill lounge area, specialty booths, games & prizes and much, much more.
The event is paid by donations and ticket sales (scholarships are provided as needed) but most of the labor is done by parent volunteers. That's why WE NEED YOU!! We want to make this special event better every year. Senior parents, friends, relatives etc. are all welcome. Don't stay away because your senior doesn't want you at the event, there are many opportunities to help before or after the event.
Freshmen, Sophomore & Junior Parents are encouraged to volunteer now for three reasons:
Your help as a committee chair person can mean VIP seating at your child's graduation celebration
You can experience the evenings events & will know where to volunteer when its your child's turn
It is a lot of fun and you get to meet the other great Wilson parents!
