Values and Beliefs

All students possess unique learning styles, abilities, experiences, and individual stages of development. Education is enriched when students of differing abilities and talents learn together.

We believe all students can:

Participate in a meaningful way in the least restrictive environment
Maximize their potential
Become lifelong/independent learners
Effective participation in communities beyond school

The mission of Wilson Classical High School Special Education Department is to provide specially designed instruction and services to meet the unique and exceptional needs for students whose educational needs can be met with accommodations and modifications to the general education program.

Department Vision

To create and sustain an inclusive educational community to provide graduates with life skills, where each student is empowered to realize his or her potential.

Wilson Special Education Programs Offered Include:

Resource Specialist Program:

RSP students are enrolled in general education classes.  The student’ IEP’s delineate the students’ goals and objectives and describes the supports and services necessary to enable the student to achieve those goals within the general education program.  Students graduate with a diploma, fulfilling the same requirement as general education students.  Students exit from Special Education upon receipt of diploma and are given information on community support.
