Minimum Requirements

1. Academic GPA of 3.6 from 6th and 7th grade 

2. ELA SBAC score of 2550+

3. Enrollment in Algebra 1.

 

WAVE admits 175 students starting with the highest GPA that select WAVE as their first choice.

Wilson Academic Vision of Excellence

Wilson's Academic Vision of Excellence (WAVE) is the most rigorous Liberal Arts themed program in LBUSD. This program is intended for students who plan to attend the most elite colleges and universities. 

 

WAVE students take the following classes as a cohort with WAVE teachers:

 

History: AP Human Geo, AP World, AP US History, AP Gov/AP Econ 

 

English: Eng 1-2 Acc, Eng 3-4 Acc, AP English Lang, AP English Lit

 

Math: Geometry Acc, Alg 2 Acc, Honors Pre-Calc, AP Calc or AP Stats

 

Science: Biology 1-2 Acc, Honors Chemistry or AP Biology

 

WAVE Capstone: AP Seminar and AP Research

 

Additional classes (non-cohort):

     Science: 3 Accelerated, Honors, or AP science electives

     World Language: Minimum 3 years of same language

     Visual/Performing Art: Minimum of 1 year

     PE: Minimum of two years

 

Successful completion of the WAVE coursework and passing of WAVE AP classes will allow WAVE students to graduate high school with one year of college credit completed.
