Minimum Requirements
1. Academic GPA of 3.7 from 6th and 7th grade and first semester of 8th grade.
2. ELA SBAC score of 2550+ (7th Grade)
3. Completion of Algebra 1 in 8th grade.
WAVE admits up to 175 students starting with the highest GPA that select WAVE as their first choice.

Wilson Academic Vision of Excellence
Wilson's Academic Vision of Excellence (WAVE) is the most rigorous Liberal Arts themed program in LBUSD. This program is intended for students who plan to attend the most elite colleges and universities.
WAVE students take the following classes as a cohort with WAVE teachers:
History: AP World, AP US History, AP Gov/AP Econ
English: Eng 1-2 Acc, Eng 3-4 Acc, AP English Lang, AP English Lit
Math: Geometry Acc, Alg 2, Honors Pre-Calc, AP Calc or AP Stats
Science: The Living Earth, Honors Chemistry
WAVE Technical Core: AP Psychology, AP Seminar, and AP Research
Additional classes (non-cohort):
Science: 3rd year+ recommended in Honors or AP science
Visual/Performing Art: Minimum of 1 year
World Language: Minimum 2 years, 3+ years recommended
PE: Minimum of two years
Successfully completing AP Seminar and AP Research with a passing score of 3 or more, in addition to passing 4 AP exams awards students with the recognition of AP Capstone Diploma
