About Wilson
Wilson High school first opened its doors in 1926 and will graduate its 89th senior class this coming June. A strong tradition of both academic and athletic excellence has inspired multiple generations to want their children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren to wear the cardinal and gold of a Wilson Bruin.
Why It’s a Great Day to be a Bruin:
- Ranked by Newsweek among the top 4% of U.S. high schools every year since 2003
- Named by the Washington Post as the nation’s most challenging high schools, based on the school’s ability to offer rigorous college prep courses
- The Post ranked Wilson in the top 5% of high schools nationwide and highest among the four similarly ranked large comprehensive high schools in LBUSD
- Wilson offers 27 Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including the College Board's newest Capstone courses, AP Seminar and AP Research
- The Bruins have won 63 CIF Championships and 394 Moore League Championships!
- Wilson has also had an Olympian in every summer Olympiad since 1952, that’s over 37 Olympians!
